Landry/French is actively seeking co-op interns for our operations division who are enrolled in a formal construction, engineering, or architectural training/college program or equivalent building construction experience. The individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities that support field operations with direct reporting to Project Superintendent and Project Manager. Basic computer skills, can-do attitude, professional appearance, and the ability to multi-task. Interns will gain exposure to commercial construction and are assigned to projects according to the skill and qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to including:

  • Assist and support Project Engineers, Project Managers and Superintendents on assigned projects using Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques.
  • Assist Superintendent with the implementation and tracking of job site procedures, notifications, signage, supplies, and
  • Assist in the implementation of the site safety program as required and ensure subcontractor compliance with Landry/French Construction safety standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Assist with the maintaining of document control and distribution of the following:
    • Request for Information (RFI)
    • Submittals
    • Contract Documents
    • Architect’s Supplemental Instructions (ASI)
    • A/E Reports
    • Contract Close-out Documentation (i.e., Close-out Manual)
    • Punch list Management
  • Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and
  • Assist Project Manager in verifying submittal conformity to specs and assisting the Superintendent with ensuring the products used are approved for
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of construction project schedules.
  • Assist with line/grade work for building layout and control as required. Partition layout and verification. Blocking coordination/layout and
  • Attend all trade meetings and prepare
  • Assist in the development of punch lists and the follow-up necessary to ensure timely completion of punch list
  • Other duties may be assigned by the project team.

QUALIFICATONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Currently enrolled in a formal construction, engineering, or architectural training/college program or equivalent building construction experience. Previous summer internship/co-op experience in construction highly
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, desire to learn, ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing, proficient with computer applications as required to perform
  • A basic understanding of scheduling programs preferred. Knowledge of general contract, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications also desirable.
