This multi-phased addition and renovation project of Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor, Maine will include a three-story, 30,000-SF addition.
The first phase of the project, the Central Utilities Plant (CUP), involved all enabling work to facilitate the hospital-wide renovation, which will house the Emergency Department, Surgical Services Department, and Administrative/Conference areas. As part of this renovation, the entry lobby and registration area will be relocated to a new one-story west addition, while labs and patient services will be moved within the 100-year-old original hospital building.
The overall project cost is estimated at $45M project and is expected to be completed in 2028.
