The new 29,500-SF Women’s Re-Entry Facility, located in Windham, replaces a leased facility in Alfred, and provides pre-release preparation to women in the last years of their sentences, helping them transition successfully into the community.
The new facility includes beds for 96 residents, separate shower and bath facilities, visiting area, resident common areas, and a full commercial kitchen and computer room to provide residents with training in culinary arts and computer technology. The facility also includes exercise and yoga rooms, and interior and exterior spaces for visiting family. The entire building is equipped with cameras and intercom system throughout.
