City of Augusta Celebrates Opening of New Police Station
Landry/French Construction joined the City of Augusta at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Police Station on April 10th.
A grand opening was held for the new $20.5 million facility located across from the historic City Hall on Willow Street.
This new state-of-the-art building includes secure parking for police, an evidence lab, interview rooms, a dispatch center, and a drive-through sally port to bring people in custody into the building. The building also includes a second-floor training room and fitness center for employees and a large, open public lobby. Solar panels on the building’s roof provide electricity back to the grid.
The grade on the entire site is raised three feet to withstand major flooding that could occur on the nearby Kennebec River.
